 MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2026

 8:00 AM    Motorcoach will arrive Ridgeway Firehouse to load luggage and depart.

·       The driver will provide a tour identifying luggage tags for 1 bag for each person.  Attached that tag so the bellman and driver can easily identify your bags at hotel

·        

·       The driver will also provide a parking pass to put on your vehicles dashboard before departing for our journey.

8:30 AM    Depart for Newport.  A comfort stop will be made about 2 – 2 ½ hours into our journey north.  We will make a stop at the Mystic Seaport about 1 hour outside our hotel arrive, as long as time permits. 

4:00 PM    Welcome to NEWPORT, RHODE ISLAND, the “Ocean State”.

 8:30 AM     Depart hotel for a full day of exploring.  You may consider packing a water bottle, sunscreen, jacket, etc. Small back pack, and some snacks, for your comfort.  Small bag packs will fit in the overhead,

 8:45 AM     The tour bus will take your to meet your  LOCAL GUIDE at the Newport Transportation Center. 

Mrs. Caroline Astor, the Grande Dame of Newport, and New York Society in the Gilded Age of the late 1800’s.  Enjoy the charm of Newport’s historic buildings and restored homes on this narrated tour covering over 150 points of interest.  Take in the rugged beauty of Ten-Mile Ocean Drive and the fabulous mansions along tree-lined Bellevue Avenue.

10:30 AM   Admission is included on a self-guided tour of MARBLE HOUSE.  

Built between 1888 and 1892 for Mr. and Mrs. William K. Vanderbilt, it was a summer house, or "cottage", as “Newporters” called them in remembrance of the modest houses of the early 19th century.  Mr. Vanderbilt was the grandson of Commodore Cornelius Vanderbilt, who established the family's fortune in steamships and the New York Central Railroad.

You will have free time for lunch on your own on the historic downtown waterfront filled with cobblestone shopping wharves lined with antique stores, art galleries, specialty shops and restaurants.

3:30 pm   Admission to the SAILING MUSEUM.

Situated in the historic Armory building on the waterfront in downtown Newport, The Sailing Museum features interactive exhibits, displays chronicling the history of the sport, and galleries honoring inductees into the National Sailing Hall of Fame and the America’s Cup Hall of Fame.  Stroll Newport’s famous Thames Street.  You will return to your hotel

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2026 (No Guide Today)

 7:00 AM    BREAKFAST is included this morning at your hotel. 

 10:00 AM   Admission is included on a self-guided tour of the BREAKERS MANSION. 

The Breakers is the grandest of Newport’s summer “cottages” and a symbol of the Vanderbilt family's social and financial preeminence in turn of the century America.

 11:15 AM   Arrive at the NEWPORT PLAYHOUSE.

 11:30 AM   BUFFET LUNCH

  1:00 PM    Showtime: “I Need That”, A cabaret production. Return to your hotel.

 THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2026 (Full Day Guide)

 7:00 AM    BREAKFAST is included this morning at your hotel. 

8:30 AM     Your LOCAL GUIDE will meet those  interested to go on an easy ½ mile walk

This is a  (1 hour) walk on the Cliff Walk.  Enjoy the natural beauty of the stunning coastline with the architectural history of the Gilded Age.  The panoramic views of the ocean with waves crashing on the magnificent bluffs are what makes the Cliff Walk so unique. 

9:15 AM     Coach will depart with non cliff walkers to meet up with others.

 9:30 AM     Coach will pick up those who took cliff walk.  the Breakers parking lot.

 10:00 AM   Enjoy a self-guided tour of ROSECLIFF Mansion  ( included )

Commissioned by Nevada silver heiress Theresa Fair Oelrichs in 1899, the house was completed in 1902.  Mrs. Oelrichs hosted fabulous entertainments here, including a party featuring famed magician Harry Houdini.  Scenes from several films have been shot on location at Rosecliff, including The Great Gatsby, True Lies, Amistad and 27 Dresses.  LUNCH is included today.

 Depart on the Coastal Queen HARBOR CRUISE (75 minutes). Experience magnificent Newport Harbor and the Bay with views of lighthouses, harbor mansions and forts.  Cross the bay to see Rose Island Lighthouse, Clingstone, and Jamestown.   This enclosed harbor tour shows Newport off at its picture-perfect best. 

 BLITHEWOLD is a 33-acre summer estate with grand views of Narragansett Bay and is nationally significant in American history as one of the most fully developed and authentic examples of the Country Place Era. The property features a 45-room mansion filled with family heirlooms and is framed by a series of lovely gardens that range in character from mysterious to exotic and from poetic to practical.  Return to your hotel.   Dinner is on your own this evening.

 You will be advised what time to have your bags out in AM for pick up and loading on coach.

Friday September 18, 2026

7:00 AM    Have luggage outside of room, ready for pick up by porters to deliver to and load on the coach. 

7:00am BREAKFAST is included this morning at your hotel.   You many return to your room to freshen up and prepare for the trip home.  It is suggested that you have a back pack that you will use for personal items you want to keep with you as you luggage will picked up by the time your return to your room and before departing for home.

9:00  AM    We will be on our way back to New Jersey
